The shape of this half mask was designed to showcase the filigree finish of interlocking lines of glitter and pearl insets. The resulting sparkle is amazing. This finish can also be seen on the cap of the full face Harlequin masks. They are edged with pearls and lace. The first masks of this style were created for the masquerade scene of a production of the Phantom of the Opera in Virginia City, Nevada.
