The Daughter of the Moon
This piece is a 3-dimensional
relief scuplture done in paper mache on canvas and painted with oils. It
measures about 24 inches by 36 inches and is framed in a good sized grey
marbled looking frame. The colors do not show up that well in the photo
above. They are very pale, almost irridescent in effect. The moon is supended
in a purple/black sky with the face of the Daughter emerging from the starlit
darkness. This image sat in my head for quite a while until finally I had
to get it out. This painting is the result. It has a peaceful, serene quality
to it that much of my other work does not. It is unusual in that respect.
