The Egyptian cat goddess Bastet is a symbol of eternal life and fertility. Here she is represented as seen on many tomb walls and decorations with a cat's face with the sun crowning her head.  Her face is covered with real gold leaf and painted with enamel paints. Decorations include various semi-precious stones and peacock feathers. A mask fit for royalty indeed.
